Simon’s art is a reflection of his own personality: peaceful, patient, and positive..

Peace: In a world filled with angst the artist can either embrace the dark side of things or he can choose to embrace the positive side and hopefully spread it around. Throughout his life he traveled this whole spectrum from one end to another, personally and artistically, and feels that his life has reached a point of perfect harmony. He used to fight fire with fire but with time he understood that fighting fire with water is much more efficient. He also used to think that art gave a meaning to his life but it’s actually the other way around. How can you create significant art if you don’t have a significant life?

Patience: Simon can’t say that his art is spontaneous. It is the result of patient and precise craftsmansip. He likes to say that while some people paint with acrylics and others with oils, he paints with time. Doing art is like meditation for him since it brings him peace and stillness of mind and he strives to share this peace with as many people as he can. Over the years he has developed a unique technique which enables him to create actual relief while preserving a perfectly smooth surface. The 3D effect seen in his paintings is real and not the result of trompe-l’oeil.

Positivity: Everyday he tries to be grateful for the happiness he has in his life, being able to live off his art, being part of a wonderful and loving family and being a father, which keeps him grounded and gives him wings at the same time. There are so few things in this life that really matter, there’s no excuse no neglect them: family, friends, a bit of art, what else?
