WINTER ’07 FASHION SHOW: December 6, 2007

With a 30’s burlesque/jazz theme, Black Sheep Betty’s second fashion show was sexy and sultry with an old-time warmth and class.  Local singer Amanda Mabro belted out jazz tunes live while the models strutted the catwalk.  Backed by Cozmos Quazar on keys and Tim Van de Ven on drums, Amanda’s dulcet tones and warm personality created an amazing energy for the show.  The clothes themselves were well-made and incredibly wearable.  Models sported crowns custom made for the event and recycled fur accessories, made from 30 to 50 year old fur.  The designers were Christina Ledang, Katherine Turvey, Sofia Del Giacco, Amy Arnott and Miriam Fortier. see pics

FIRST ANNUAL HAT BATTLE: November 16, 2007

We’ve all heard of battles where rappers go head to head for bragging rights.  Well, the hat battle was the same concept except painters Bfor, Gaston and S3 battled it out by painting on hats live at the event.  The crowd decided who won the battles. The hats were auctioned off to the highest bidders in a heated silent auction.  This event was the first of many Betty art events guaranteed to be completely outside the box.  Be sure to take in the second annual hat battle – November 2008! see pics

FALL ’07 FASHION SHOW: September 25, 2007

Raw and edgy best describe the fashions that Black Sheep Betty presented in its first ever fashion show.   Models looked ultra-urban and presented themselves on the catwalk with a fierceness and energy that will not soon be forgotten by those who witnessed it.  This show set the tone for all future Betty fashion shows and the bar was high.  The designers were Betty artists Christina Ledang, Sofia Del Giacco, Katherine Turvey, S3 and Miriam Fortier. see pics
